Searching the UK properly

Google Maps returns a limited number of places per search, so one search for "plumber, Manchester" misses most of the city. The location picker splits the UK into 3,302 postcode districts — Greater London alone is 295 of them, Greater Manchester 92 — and each district is searched separately. Pick a whole area or just the districts you need.

Each business comes back with its phone, website, full address, rating, reviews and hours from Google Maps, then the email and social profiles found on its own website — one row per business, exported to XLSX or CSV.

Emailing UK businesses: the rules in outline

  • • The UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) let you send marketing emails to corporate subscribers — limited companies, LLPs, government bodies — without prior consent, as long as you say who you are and give a simple way to opt out.
  • • Sole traders and most partnerships are treated like individuals: they need consent, or an existing-customer relationship. A plumber trading under their own name is usually a sole trader, so check before you email.
  • • UK GDPR still applies to personal data inside a business record, such as a named employee's address. Keep your source and dates, target relevantly, and honour opt-outs straight away.

Questions

Can I cold email UK businesses?

Limited companies and other corporate subscribers, generally yes under PECR, with clear identification and an opt-out. Sole traders and most partnerships need consent. This is an outline, not legal advice — the ICO's guidance is the reference.

Does it cover London properly?

Yes — Greater London is split into its 295 postcode districts, each searched separately. Pick them all, or only the districts covering the boroughs you want; splitting by district is what gets you past Google's per-search cap in a city that size.

How much does a lead list for the UK cost?

1 credit per business delivered, with emails and socials included. As a guide, we estimate ~3,900 dentists in London — about 3,900 credits for all of them. The first 100 credits are free; the Starter plan is 50,000 credits a month for $19.
