Google Places API cost calculator
Google's prices checked September 24, 2026, from its core services price list (last updated September 17, 2026).
The Places API bills per request, at the rate of the costliest field you ask for. A search for names, phones and websites is billed as Text Search Enterprise: $35 per 1,000 requests after 1,000 free a month, each returning up to 20 places. That's $1.75 per 1,000 places at best, and the API has no email field.
20 is the most one request returns, so 20 is the best case. Lower it for sparse areas, last pages and places that repeat across neighbouring searches.
Adds phone, website, star rating, review count, opening hours, price level.
Text or Nearby Search with the fields in the field mask: one billable request per page of up to 20 places.

Notes
- • Google bills a request at the costliest field in it, and counts usage across every project on your billing account to set the volume tier.
- • A Text Search query stops at 60 places and a Nearby Search at 20, so 10,000 places take at least 167 separate queries over small areas. Places that turn up in two of them are billed twice.
- • Packs are $29 for 50,000 credits that never expire, so this is that price spread over what you use.
- • Hubertino is 1 credit per row delivered, with all 38 export columns; a business that two overlapping searches both return is two rows. It leaves out the 100 free credits at signup.
What each Places API SKU costs
USD per 1,000 billable requests in a calendar month, pay as you go, from Google's global price list. Each tier's rate applies only to the requests inside it, the way Google's own worked example adds them up. Nearby Search Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise + Atmosphere cost the same as the Text Search SKUs of the same name.

Notes and sources
Tier bounds are 100,000, 500,000, 1,000,000, 5,000,000 requests a month. The first tier starts after the free allowance. Google also sells monthly subscription plans, from $100 for 50,000 calls to $1,200 for 250,000, but only the Pro plan includes Places searches, and at the Pro tier only: no plan covers an Enterprise SKU, so a search for phones and websites is pay as you go either way. This calculator prices pay as you go only (subscriptions, read September 25, 2026).
Which fields put a request in which tier
You choose the fields with a field mask, and Google bills the whole request at the highest SKU among them. Ask for one phone number and a search that would have been Pro is Enterprise. The tiers below are the ones Text Search and Nearby Search use, from the web service columns of Google's place data fields list.
- IDs only (free on Text Search): the place ID and its resource name. Nearby Search has no IDs-only SKU: even the place ID bills as Nearby Search Pro.
- Pro: name, address, coordinates, category, business status, Maps link (
displayName, formattedAddress, location, types, primaryType, businessStatus, googleMapsUri). - Enterprise: phone, website, star rating, review count, opening hours, price level (
nationalPhoneNumber, internationalPhoneNumber, websiteUri,rating, userRatingCount, regularOpeningHours, priceLevel). - Enterprise + Atmosphere: up to 5 reviews, editorial summary, and attributes such as takeout, delivery, parking and payment options (
reviews,editorialSummary,takeout,delivery,dineIn,parkingOptions,paymentOptions).
Place Details has one more tier, Place Details Essentials ($5 per 1,000 after 10,000 free), for the address and coordinates alone. The business name is a Pro field, so a lead list never bills there.
What the API won't give a lead list
- • No emails. Google's place data fields include no email address and no social profiles. The nearest things are the phone numbers and the website link.
- • 60 results per search. A Text Search returns 20 places a page and 60 across all its pages; a Nearby Search returns up to 20. A city's worth of dentists means a grid of small searches, and the places they share are billed again in each.
- • 5 reviews per place. The reviews field returns at most 5, at the Enterprise + Atmosphere rate.
- • Keeping the data. Google's Maps Platform terms (section 3.2.3) bar copying and saving business names, addresses or reviews for use outside Google's services; the Places API policies let you keep place IDs. Scraping raises its own questions, covered in our legal guide.
The free allowance is generous for small lists, though. With every page full, Text Search Enterprise's 1,000 free requests cover 20,000 places a month with phones and websites. If that's all you need and Google's terms fit your use, the API costs nothing.
The same list, scraped
Hubertino's Google Maps scraper charges 1 credit per row delivered, $0.276–$0.58 per 1,000 depending on the plan or pack, and every row carries the same 38 columns: the listing's phone, website, rating, hours and coordinates, plus an email and social profiles found on the business's own website. It splits a city into zip-code searches for you; as with the API's grid, a business two of them return comes back, and is billed, twice. The export keeps each place ID and CID, so repeats collapse on the place ID and rows can be matched to Places API data later. The Google Maps data extractor page defines every column; the first 100 credits are free, and pricing has the rest.
For the longer comparison, read Google Places API vs scraping or the Places API alternative for lead lists; developers can run the same scrapes through the Google Maps scraper API.
Questions
How much does the Google Places API cost?
Per 1,000 requests up to 100,000 a month: Text Search Pro $32, Text Search Enterprise $35 and Enterprise + Atmosphere $40; Place Details Pro $17, Enterprise $20 and Enterprise + Atmosphere $25. The rate falls in steps above 100,000, 500,000, 1 million and 5 million requests a month. Which SKU you pay depends on the costliest field you ask for. From Google's price list, checked September 24, 2026. Google also sells monthly subscription plans, from $100 for 50,000 calls to $1,200 for 250,000, but only the Pro plan includes Places searches, and at the Pro tier only: no plan covers an Enterprise SKU, so a search for phones and websites is pay as you go either way.
Is the Places API free?
Partly. Since March 1, 2025 there's no $200 monthly credit; instead every SKU has its own free monthly allowance: 5,000 requests on the Pro SKUs and 1,000 on the Enterprise ones used for a lead list. A Text Search that asks only for place IDs costs nothing at any volume.
Does the Google Places API return email addresses?
No. Google's list of place data fields has no email field, and no social profiles either. The fields closest to contact details are the phone numbers and the website link, which bill at the Enterprise tier.
How many results does a Places API search return?
Up to 20 per request. A Text Search query can page on to 60 results in total (Google says that limit may change); a Nearby Search returns up to 20 and stops. Getting every business in a city means running many searches over small areas.
Why is Place Details dearer per business than a search?
Because it bills once per place, while a search bills once per page of up to 20 places. At the first volume tier, Text Search Enterprise works out at $1.75 per 1,000 places on full pages; Place Details Enterprise is $20 per 1,000 places.
